The 2009 English National returns to The South West for the first time in ten years. This year's event will take place in the grounds of Castle Hill, a stunningly beautiful Palladian house, and home to Earl and Lady Arran who have kindly agreed to host the event. http://www.castlehilldevon.co.uk/
Alongside the sheepdog trial the North Devon Hospice will be running a Devon Country Fayre. There will be a full programme of arena events, craft stalls, a food fair and much more. We believe that this English National will be an event to remember. http://www.northdevonhospice.org.uk/sheepdogs
Directions:
Castle Hill is situated 12 miles east of Barnstaple. Leave the M5 motorway at Junction 27 and take the A361 [North Devon Link Road ] towards Barnstaple. After approx 20 miles you will reach the first South Molton roundabout. Go straight ahead at this roudabout and after a further 3 miles turn left at the second South Molton roundabout. This is onto the B3226. After 300 yards take the second turning right signed Stags Head and Filleigh. Shortly after passing through Stags Head you will see the signs for the trial. click here for a map of how to get to the area

Catering
The local committee are delighted that Orswell Farm Catering will be providing very extensive catering arrangements for the sheepdog trial.
Orswell say as follows " We are pleased to be running the Bar and Catering at the English National Sheepdog Trial in August. We source most of our food locally; the beef coming from our own herd of Devon Ruby Red Cattle, the lamb and pork from farms on Exmoor, with seasonal vegetables all sourced locally. We hope we will have the pleasure of your custom during the trials and should you have any special dietary requests we will endeavour to be of assistance."
